If you want some delicious finger licking barbecue, then checkout this spot in Concord. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The brisket, ribs, chopped barbecue and smoked chicken wings never disappoints. It's a small restaurant so seating is limited. As a result, I prefer takeout. There are other surrounding locations, but this one is closer to Charlotte. Weekends are extremely busy. So, go early and ENJOY!

Large menu. My first visit for lunch. I had 5 large smoked wings. Fresh Tasty Outstanding! Great lunch. Some of the best wings I have ever had. Great options for drinks also, Coke products and a few others .

This bbq was very tasty. Too much food, I couldn't fish what I ordered. The brisket was delicious! The pulled pork with the bbq sauces was very good. Mac n' cheese was okay but I really enjoyed the potatoes salad. This place was a self serve drink establishment where you order at the front sit down and they bring you your food. My food came out pretty quickly, though my colleagues took a bit longer for some reason. I enjoyed my visit and would go back if I'm ever in the area and craving some bbq.

WOW! The pulled pork was hot, juicy, and perfectly smoky. We had the potato salad which was so creamy and delicious and the bbq coleslaw which is super vinegary. The Cole slaw is super unique and you might be surprised if you're from up north like we are. It was our first time and we were shocked by how large and full the parking lot was. There was a line out the door and we decided to stick it out. It didn't end up taking too long at all and boy was it worth it! On the way out the door, we purchased two bottles of their homemade bbq sauce. SO good.

Excellent service all around. No table service but the wait staff were diligent about clearing tables and grabbing refills. I ordered the regular pulled pork tray with BBQ slaw. The meat was juicy and very flavorful and the slaw had a good tang to it. This place came highly recommended and several People told us it was much better than Lexington BBQ. While i dont agree with that statement (lexington is the gold standar imo) it certainly was a delicious meal prepared with pride. Interested in trying out some of their other locations in salisbury and gastonia.

OMG! Now this is a 5-star BBQ place! The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is that I can't give it 4 and a half! I discovered this place while I wasn shopping at the Stock yard next door! We walked in and we were like we've got to come back! So today we stop by for a to go order! I order the 2 piece BBQ combo with Texas brisket and the pulled chicken! For my sides I went with the cornbread, white coleslaw, and fries! The cornbread was the bomb! It was sweet like I like it and it had little kernels of corn in it. It was a nice size for sharing. Did I say the cornbread was the bomb! The pulled chicken was very tasty and enough for a sandwich. For me, the brisket was too salty, but it did have a good flavor and the right amount of fat. I didn't notice much of a smoke flavor, but I couldn't get past the salty taste either. The coleslaw reminded me of the old-school KFC slaw from back in the day! It would have been a dead ringer if it wasn't so sweet and would have had just a bit of horseradish in it! It's like someone got heavy-handed with the sugar while making this batch. After a few forkfuls, I had to put it down. It was just too sweet for me! The fries were good too--a nice thick cut and very long the way I like them. The thing that makes this place the best is the different BBQ sauces! There are about 6 different sauces altogether! Right before I walked out the door, I asked for all of the BBQ sauce to go. And I'm glad I did! By the time we got back to the farm, the food was cold, but it was still very tasty, and I ate until I was stuffed! You know the food is good when you can enjoy it after it gets cold! Now I'm from Georgia, but I'm adding The Smoke Pit to my list of places I'm going to visit the next time I'm in town! Sorry there aren't any pictures! The food was so good that I ate them too! And the customer service is awesome! #thesmokepit #bestbbqinconcordnc

Very very surprised and impressed with my first Carolina BBQ experience. This bbq pit is located about 25 minutes outside of Charlotte, and 35 minutes from CLT airport. IT IS WORTH THE DRIVE! Food: They definitely know how to keep the BBQ meats traditional and delicious. I opted to order the 3 meat combo just to sample all of my smoked favorites (brisket, ribs, and pulled pork). I opted for the fatty (point) brisket and it did not disappoint. It was melt-in-your-mouth smooth and tender. Eat it without any sauce to really appreciate the beefy flavor. The pork ribs I selected were sauced (wet). It shined and looked juicy, and it tasted twice as good as it looked. The meat was tender and bite-through, but not falling off the bone (that's when it's overcooked). The ribs were one of the best I've had in a restaurant and could have passed for competition ribs, they were that good! The pulled pork was plentiful and had natural pork flavors, but was a little dry and could have used some more au jus sprinkled on. It pairs well with the Lexington BBQ sauce. The sides were average and the Texas Toast was buttery and crispy. I liked how there were multiple ice tea options (sweet, unsweet, and watermelon). The price was a little high for a typical bbq lunch, but you get so much food, it is worth the money. Service: The staff at the counter was friendly and gave me good advice for ribs. They employees come around each table regularly to check on customers and clean table. Ambiance: The restaurant is in a building share with a market. There is plenty of parking in front of the building. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. What I loved was that I smelled smoked BBQ meats as soon as I parked my car and opened the car door. In summary, there is something magical about this place and the food is very good. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone that appreciates good BBQ.

We stopped in for takeout. Got the food home and it was AMAZING. The brisket is so tender and juicy, not dry at all. The service was great we called ahead. Staff is pleasant and inside was family friendly. Certainly, worth the trip. Stop in because you will not be disappointed. Enjoy because we did.

We had a yummy meal at The Smoke Pit! We ordered a pound of Texas Brisket and a half rack of ribs, along with the 3 sides for $10.95. We chose the cornbread, mac and cheese, and potato casserole, and everything was fantastic. The brisket was incredibly tender and full of flavor, and the ribs were melt-in-your-mouth good--literally falling off the bone. The highlight for me was trying the burnt ends for the first time. They were absolutely delicious--smoky, tender, and packed with A LOT of flavor. Service was great--quick, friendly, and attentive. We didn't have to wait long for our food, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. We really enjoyed our time here. The portions were generous, the sides were spot on, and the meat was cooked to perfection. If you're in the area and craving some authentic, mouthwatering BBQ, definitely check out The Smoke Pit. Highly recommend!

The Smoke Pit is definitely a great go to for some good ole bbq! We stopped by to get food during our moving process because we figured it would be a good amount of food and last a couple days. We were not wrong. They really load you up! I ordered the burnt ends sandwich with Mac for the side. It was surely enough for three days worth of food lol. My boyfriend's food literally came in catering platters lol. He had the large burnt ends and ordered a bunch of sides. The food was freakin delicious even after the second day! A great choice for flavors and fullness.
